Our new baby girl loves looking at the Modern Paper Mobile for Babies that I made awhile back, but her favorite place to relax is in her bouncy seat. So I made this simple stand with some scrap wood and wire. It’s very lightweight and sturdy, so I can carry it around the house along with her bouncy seat. She’s really liking it so far!
If you’d like to try making the paper mobile, you can click here for instructions and printable template. (Sorry, I don’t have instructions for the stand, as the wire seems to be very hard to find.)
Look how big that little one has got!!! Too sweet!!! Love how carefully your mobile is being observed!!!
Hi Joel. Not sure if it’s just me, but I can’t get the link to work. Love the mobile though
Sorry, yeah, I fixed that first link now!
Ah ah so your mobile doesn t only keep my daughter quiet ;) I think I will be grateful forever, this mobile has made such a difference in our lives !
Thanks Dolores. I’m glad it worked to entertain your baby girl too! Hope she’s still liking it!

i don’t see the instructions for how you made the stand. what kind of wire did you use? thanks!
Hi Tim. Yeah, I didn’t give instructions for the stand, but I should have explained it. The reason I didn’t though is because I’m not sure where one would get the kind of wire I used. It was some old wire that I got from my grandpa. He salvaged it from a grocery store, and said it was supposed to be used for hanging vent tubes on the ceiling or something. Anyway, it’s kind of like an aluminum steel blend I think, because it’s fairly easy to bend. Maybe you could find it at a hardware store.
So yeah, if you do find some wire. I simple drilled a small hole in some wood, then pounded the wire in so it was very tight. Then bent it slightly and made a loop at the end to tie the mobile on.

What type of wire is it?
It was some old wire that I got from my grandpa. He salvaged it from a grocery store, and said it was supposed to be used for hanging vent tubes on the ceiling or something. I’m sure there are other types of wire that would work though. Maybe try asking around at a hardware store.
Hi–
I’m looking into making one of these. Can you tell me what the diameter of your wire is, and how long the wire is?
Thanks,
David
Hey David. The length of the wire is about 60 inches. Not sure the diameter, but I’ll paste in one of my previous comments below in case you missed it. Might explain some things a bit more.

Hi,
I find your post with the mobile stand and it looks really great!! I went to a shop but they couldn’t suggest me something when I gave our description of the wire. I wondered if it could be possible to have a zoom photo of the wire to understand more what to look for? Is it hard to bend? Would it resist to a 3 year old girl attempts? :) Thanks, Larissa
Hi. Yes, It was some old wire that I got from my grandpa. He salvaged it from a grocery store, and said it was supposed to be used for hanging vent tubes on the ceiling or something. It’s kind of like an aluminum steel blend I think, because it’s fairly easy to bend. And yes, a 3 year old could definitely easily bend it, although it would be easy to bend it back into shape. The problem is, it seems to be impossible for anyone to find wire like this. You might have to just hang it from the ceiling for think of a different mobile solution. Good luck!
