My wife’s grandma just gave me her Tiffany Cigar box full of buttons during our visit last weekend. She said she was never going to use them, so I gratefully accepted the gift. The kids already love playing with them just in the box. Then I drew up some animals and pictures that they could place the buttons onto, which was a big hit also. I can’t wait to start using some of them in toys and clothing.
good idea, now I know what do to with all my lovely buttons!
Vintage buttons are my favorite! Love the illustration. I've been using them in clothing I've made from vintage cloth, but its so hard to part with them.
I love this idea ! Simple and great !
i also have box full of unused buttons (on a side note, it's always the button i need that isn't there!) i had been thinking of sewing them onto a tote bag of mine…but have been too lazy to do it… hehe
Neat idea! I should start saving all the extra buttons that are attached to new clothing pieces.

be my father joel!!!!i loved your designs…and i think your children are luckiest children of the world ever!!!
I played with a box like that when I was a little girl at my grandmother's house. A lovely memory, thanks for the reminder of how persistent a simple pleasure is. I'm so glad I found your blog while my children are still very young.
