I’m making some coloring sheets for a new urban homesteading store here in Portland. They wanted a chicken, duck, and a goat. I’m still working on the duck and goat, but here’s the chicken. Happy coloring!

Fantastic work Joel! I don’t know how you get so much done with a new baby in tow. Looks awesome.

  4. Ohhh, we love this chicken! My 11 yr old and I are chicken obsessed lately since we will be getting baby chicks soon. My daughter, although older than your kids, loves your website and always looks forward to the new things you make. I printed a couple of these out and she spent the evening coloring your images. I have half a mind to transfer this to fabric and paint it with fabric paints and make a pillow. Such a unique chicken! Thanks for sharing.

  5. I think the backstitch is small enough to stitch even a detailed design. If it’s very detailed… perhaps by enlarging design or using a single Moulinè floss! Sure it’s possible. Waiting for the duck for your challenge! :]

Thank you so much for all the coloring pages, toy designs, and templates you are willing to give. I’m a stay at home mom and I love your work. As my son grows older I hope to continue to use your previous and new ideas to make his play more fun and interesting. Thank you again.

Hello Joel! I am so glad to have found your site! Your style is whimsical and inspirational.
I happened to be over at amazon looking for a set of typewriter face alphabet stamps for my children and got caught up looking at all the neat designs. While I was browsing it occurred to me that your style would be wonderful on stamps. It’s another medium for your art that I can see all ages using.
Thank you for sharing your talent.
I am looking forward to your book release and above all congratulations to you and your family on the birth of your beautiful new baby!!!!

  8. Joel, the idea with all the techniques of embroidery is that you can adapt to any design ! So yes, even the duck will be possible to do….

I don’t mind to show “how to” after I finished the chicken, which is nearly done.

I love ethnic designs. This is perfect for my children of 3 and 9 to be occupied with today!
    Thanks a ton!
