Family Portrait Drawing

I love drawing with my kids. This morning while we were doing some art, I made this family portrait. Their artistic style is very inspiring.

Hello! I just discovered your blog and it is wonderful. I am really bad when it comes to "making things" (for the life of me I can't even saw a button!) but you have inspired me. I love the aquarium posted on 31 May. Thank you. I will let you know if I manage to make something. Have a nice day!

love the family portrait! :) reminds me of an article i recently read about a woman who has incorporated this type of drawing into her art. she happens to work for martha stewart and had a really cool art show in nyc where she drew portraits for everyone who came. i just found a cool clip in which her children have drawn family portraits as well –

    Thanks!

fridica – Hey, thanks. Yeah, maybe I should at least tape it onto the wall. Hmmm, it might be fun to paint it on a large canvas too. Would look good in the kids' room.

Three Owls – Thanks. I really love drawing clothing for some reason. I love abstract fabric prints.

kenza – Thank you. Glad you found the blog. I'm sure you can make this stuff. I like to keep things very simple too! Just go for it, because it doesn't need to be perfect for it to be a fun toy .

Lori, – We commented at the same time. Ha. I just watched that video with Jack and Tess. So great! The kids on it were awesome, and I loved their family portraits. Thanks for showing me that!

barbara – Maybe try refreshing your browser, or quit it then start it up again. or try a different browser if you have one. if all else fails restart your whole computer. that sometimes fixes weird things like that.

Using a different browser worked – thank you! I don't want to miss anything of your art :)

So darn precious! I use to be a elementary school teacher and one of my favorite things was collecting the artwork given to me by my students! Children's artwork is just so free and fun…no inhibitions yet. My eight year old and I actually collaborated on one of the banners I sell in my shop. He did the artwork which I turned into a stamp to print with. It is one of the most favorite items in my shop!

Just discovered your blog a couple of weeks ago and it quickly has become one of my favorites!:)

    Thanks!

Anonymous – Well, partly because she's usually at work when we're at home making toys. Also she likes to stay behind the scenes. You can see her in the Bloesem Interview though.
